NO Memory

i have 6 month old macbook has hard disk memory of 250 gb.
have data on external hard drive , few things come upto 100 gb on mac. noticed yesterday mac had 24 gb left started deleting stuff. , today shows 36 mb free space ! please new mac !

 

fyi, memory refers ram, not hard drive space.

space issues, there few things can try:

• begin restarting computer first step. resolves issues.
• search finder see if space being consumed large file or several large files. adjust 50gb in illustration whatever size deem appropriate.

• for time machine users on lion, space may being consumed time machine local snapshots, can disabled.
• use omnidisksweeper, jdisk report or grandperspective see how space being used on drive. of these apps may show more detail others, try several.
