i have 2009 mac pro.
i've seen lot of threads on comparing electra extreme (both sata 6g). when looking @ 120gb capacities in of threads, difference in price quite small. if wanted small capacity, wouldn't ask thread.
issue needs, require 480gb model. difference in price $200, quite bit. i've called owc , sales team no seeing can read off data sheets can well. cannot exceed incompressible data rate of electra drive, that's why not believe need faster extreme variant.
not plan move drive sata 3 machine anytime @ all. reason i'm comparing these 2 models because have had experience purchasing owc branded products, not mention offer cheaper solution compared other brands ocz, etc.
not care 3 year vs 5 year warranties because upgrading in 3 years time if not sooner.
love hear people's experience if on these 2 drives in mac pros. have electra in cart , want see if there other incentive pay more expensive model, otherwise think should electra. i'm looking better data management in cases of power failures (although use ups), etc.
people's thoughts on this?

240gb owc mercury extreme pro
480gb owc mercury extreme pro 6g
2 x 240gb ocz vertex 3
3 x 240gb ocz vertex 3 max iops
2 x 256gb samsung 830
sandforce 2200 series drives far fastest. drives latest firmware stable , reliable. best construction either owc or samsung 830 drives. best packaging far samsung 830.
answer question, recommend owc mercury extreme pro sata ii (3g) variant. many sata iii (6g) ssds not work older chipsets.
