when took new ipad out of box , went cellular data page re-activate account, prompted me sign new account entirely. figured there option sign in , migrate old account - there not. verizon needs , thankfully process quick , painless. there no need cancel prior prepaid account , start new prepaid account following method.
the fix:
verizon prepaid support # call 888-294-6804, option 2. ask old ipad2 phone number able pull logging verizon account area on ipad or original email verizon when activated ipad. verizon rep talked knowledgeable though provided these instructions new wave of ipad+4g lte devices.
support rep have read few settings new ipad, reset network feature on ipad, power down, , eject sim tray (but no need remove sim card itself). rep told me migration method preferred vs cancelling old account on old ipad , starting fresh.
when boot up, in action 3g on new ipad - keep in mind took few minutes normal longer due sheer amount of activations taking place new ipad.
have 3g service until next prepaid month begins. 4g lte active on whatever plan have (i have 1gb/$20). opted prepay today ahead of april x regular start date, , of have 4g lte speed , logo showing in upper-left hand corner of ipad.
