Native Resolution Video?

wondering, firstly, seem odd if couldn't, new ipad limited playing 1080p video? if not, know download nice quality video @ 2048x1536 see how performs? i've been unsuccessful in finding of high enough quality , less tradition resolution.

you try downloading 4k video youtube , cropping fit ipad. need compression ratio.
