poor performance when streaming video via Airplay

i take short video clip on iphone 4 in 720p. home , want stream imac or appletv watch on big screen wirelessly via airplay. buffering time ridiculous. seem me issue iphone pushing data stream out @ rate rather appletv not having horsepower play it, since imac i5 has same issue. missing something? hope addressed in 5.1.
