help! Keep ATT unlimited or go Verizon for SF

i have unlimited att data plan ipad 1 have been using

live in sf travel around west coast periodically.

wondering whether should go att though network less comprehensive - , maybe slower? - or switch verizon.

reason think stay att keep unlimited package, nervous month or 2 might cap did unlimited iphone data plan.

tried both att , verizon ipad's @ apple store in marina area of sf, , neither had lte showing up.

having hotspot capability nice too, though @ data rates not sure how use that.

suggestions?

 

if buy verizon ipad , use att sim now. have not lte here. have att ipad now, going change vz on monday.
