context:
have mac mini server (mid 2010) running client os version of snow leopard. bought interim machine replace imac (20", 2006) hold me off until buy 15" macbook pro later year when next refreshed (or 17" if drastically reduce functionality of 15" model, forcing me go 1 up). given next machine come either mountain lion or lion pre-installed, i've thought silly upgrade lion, haven't yet. bought server model mac mini because wanted 1tb of storage and, during mid 2010 generation of mac minis, wasn't possible, wiped drives, raid 0ed them (so i'd have 1 volume [don't worry, use time machine religiously , have applecare offset increased liklihood of hard drive failure]).
question:
recent release of firmware updates non-mac-pro mid 2010 macs enabling use of lion internet recovery (provided machine running lion required install said firmware updates) i'm wondering happens on server model mid 2010 mac mini. mid 2011 mac mini server lion server has special lion internet recovery mode reinstall lion server opposed client version of lion on of other lion-internet-recovery-enabled-macs. 2010 mac mini server (who has made jump lion [and thusly installed firmware update]) know if lion internet recovery on machine restore full lion server or standard lion client?
info appreciated.
did ever find out answer question? see there efi 1.5 update enable mid 2010 mini lion internet recovery did find 1 post after upgrading efi wanted downgrade again 1.4 since messed audio (cannot remember details).
i've managed unused mac mini mid 2010 server , want change lion client. have read 1 has go through hoops install lion since sl server allow install lion server (resulting in software purchase , seems have own issues). alternatively have first install sl client , install lion client. there suggestions of having lion dvd / usb install medium , first wiping hdd , apparently might work, have not got machine yet might explore option first.
