Consolidating photos using iPhoto

hi all,

consolidate , clean single location various folders of photos have dotted around hdd. access through iphoto library , copy photos single "folder" , access them through iphoto before deleting various original folders , freeing hdd space. however, before deleting originals, want sure photos copied new single folder remain accessible iphoto! have done similar music , itunes, itunes/preferences/advanced menu enables me specify music sitting (so know itunes can find it), , enables me automatically "point" application folder when importing new music. however, iphoto/preferences/advanced not appear have same feature , it's not clear on hdd photos iphoto accessing sitting. hence, don't want delete "original" photo folders without being sure new (copied) photos are, , being able continue access them. can me, before impatient , make horrible mistake?

have mac osx10.6.8 on macbook pro. thanks,

karl

hi folks,

don't know whether lack of response means question's difficult/stupid or it's unclear, in case it's latter, thought i'd simply.

hope (a) makes more sense earlier attempt explain problem, , (b) gets response or two........

in anticipation.

karl
