LaCie 2Big vs G-safe raid backup

for use macpro, i'm using single fw800 ext 1tb drive. no redundancy , no off-premises capability. 2 partitions, 1 bootable clone of macos/apps, other timeshare.

convenience (has convenient, or won't it), thinking of dual drive raid box swappable drives (lacie 2big, g-safe). mirror drives. 3rd drive rotate in , store in secure location.

concern these products noise , reliability. i've seen mixed reviews. lacie in particular seems bad marks quality, e.g. failures, etc

think?

lacie external hdds have notoriously bad track record stay away them. enclosures , drives chose pretty sub-par.

g-tech products on other hand reliable. have g-safes, g-raids , other assorted g-tech externals @ work , they've worked years.

have 8 year old g-drive (with massive 250gb ide hdd!) still runs apart being noisy, actual hdd's fault , not g-tech's.
