I can hear a sound alert when I plug my headphones in

so happens times plug (apple) headphones air. can hear these sound alerts keep going @ least half minute. couldn't find exact name sound, sounds 1 plays when new mail.

wanted know if headphone jack connection, or software related. has else gotten before?

i had same thing happen me. suspect alerts virtual audio interface, , play when connected caught up. seems bug. way off.
