How do i connect TV to thunderbolt display?

so got thunderbolt display accompany mpb.

when connect tv of display (via hdmi adapter) nothing happens. works fine if plug directly mbp.

there way plug tv thunderbolt display?

does tv have monitor out hdmi or going tv input tbd input?

if thats case 2 in's dont make out
