Hard drive space disappearing, can't figure it out

i have mac mini snow leopard , i'm having weird issue. disk space starts @ 44gb free , on period of 4 days drop 0 , whole computer freeze up. have manually restart mini reclaim space , same thing happen on , on again. can help?

 

try repairing disk permissions , checking disk itself. both of these things can done in disk utility.
