Early 2011 MBP 13" won't recognise hdd when internal only

first off want i've been looking answers on google few days, , i've found similar problems none of fixes have seemed me. again may doing wrong.

i've purchased 500gb momentus xt replace stock hdd in 2011 mbp 13".
placed disk in external usb 2.0 enclosure , made clone of stock disk. boot fine momentus xt when being run enclosure.

problems arose tried swap drives around. boot fine stock drive (in enclosure) momentus xt not booted from. tried swapping momentus enclosure, , still worked fine way. attempted reset pram , smc, , didn't me.

tried reformat drive, , make partition of 495.11g rest being empty space (i read may help). put momentus internal bay, in hope of booting osx original disk on usb, , migrating data needed over. disk utility not recognise there disk in internal bay (the momentus), before.

tried updating lion (i on snow leopard before) , turning on again, still disk utility couldn't recognise presence of momentus xt when used in internal bay.

have noticed having trouble updating efi firmware version 2.7. every time try, runs through installation, restarts, says install complete. when go system update, still lists update, , system profiler still says i'm on older version. yes, have tried updating using package apple website, no different.
have hard drive problem @ all?

i had move apple ssd superdrive was, , bootcamp ssd old apple drive was, believe has superdrive being sata=0, , drive 1.. (could wrong think recall)

anyhow, once did able boot mac ssd again, , bootcamp worked fine again.

although bootcamp installed had have superdrive installed internally again, had start bootcamp assistant in mac, once reboots install windows shut down, remove mac drive, install windows drive , install windows, remove superdrive again , put apple drive in enclosure , bootcamp drive apple 1 , working great now..

found answers via google when having issues.
