New iPad has paler colors?

i'm looking @ 3rd gen ipad next ipad2, , seems colors less saturated on retina screen. simple point of reference photos app icon. on ipad2 flower falls more deeper orangy yellow, sky being more blue. comparing against iphone4, same can said.

confirm or deny observation?

 

may want try other comparisons besides tiny icon. also, brightness set same?
