is it really possible to have an ssd installed by an authorized technician to an iMac

i have imac 2011 27 want ssd installed.
while can self , prefer installed authorized technitian.
i've talked them , response got not possible add ssd imac second drive.
not aware of possible, normal him think can't done.
told me apple ssd can installed not true either.

i've read in several places people took imacs certified technitians , have ssd's installed them installation price.

need kind of approval apple can done, don't know how can acquire it.
since don't have apple care yet, , don't want pay 50 dollars ask question, appreciate if can show me way.

in advance.

talked 3rd party "authorized" shop , f-n idiots least, don't know sh|t. buy seagate goflex tbolt adapta ($99) , apple tbolt cable ($49) , call day less shop charge , still keep warranty.
