iPhoto help - why oh why....

do allow digital pictures taken camera automatically cropped down 3x5, 4x6 or 8x10, cropping out want in picture? frustrating!

question - know way able print picture, let's 5x7 or 8x10, allows full picture (what see on computer screen) same when printed "standard" size?

require special software? or have cool trick make happen?

has mentioned might able open picture in preview , way, don't know how open picture iphoto in preview - know how?

help!!
