SIM Failure

out of blue morning wake , see had no 3g service on phone, pretty paying bills went ahead , paid in case, thought might've cut me off.

girlfriend on same account , ip4 worked fine, wasn't that.

popped out sim , re-inserted greeted 'sim failure'
girlfriend took out sim , swapped, her's works in mine, , sim works in hers..

put sim in , still nothing. tried calling telus, said it's either sim or phone, doesn't make sense can use sim in phone , can use sim in phone if nothing happened. yet put sim phone says failure..

ideas??

local place closed today otherwise i'd have gone sim replaced.
