How to share an external drive

hello,

in office work have 5 computers , share external drive plugged in 1 of imacs. how best , secure way it.

looking @ sharing window in preferences don't know if there's security issue need know.

help.

 

the sharing preference pane way go, can set permissions (read or read/write) , limit users/accounts, if want.
