wifi selection grayed out

the other day noticed wifi selection grayed out right main screen. know caused this? hard reset fixed issue though. wondering

 

whatever caused it, hard reset right thing do. if there's been lot of activity, such installing or deleting apps, hard reset gives device chance organize changes.

also, if there multiple wireless networks available, make sure it's connected right one. may attempting connect wireless network doesn't have password.
