my dad's piece of crap flip phone died on him , 2nd 1 has died out of nowhere. that's last time i'm getting cheap free flip phones come ghetto os everytime renew account.
dad has no need smartphone iphone or android cause doesn't know how text or email. things of main concern reception , call quality (cannot emphasize enough), durability , battery life. rest not matter whatsoever, can ugliest phone , won't care. call voice quality , reception key here.
since needs phone asap, i'm looking him on craigslist used condition phone , have decided iphone 2g (first gen) or mytouch 3g within budget. still use iphone 2g? if have experience mytouch 3g along iphone 2g, great.
know of other factors sleekness, weight, etc. please try factor of out , think old man doesn't give crap technology or style, pure functionality voice calls. lol
tried compare 2 being mytouch 3g different class , came out 2 years later iphone 1st gen, comparisons hard find. iphone 2g seems needs. doesn't use data 2g fine, trust 5 year old phone apple have spectacular quality considering premium device when came out. it's build quality , durability not concern , apple has battery life. but, long voice calls , reception doesn't matter.
other choice mytouch 3g same price range. has gorilla glass won't crack physical build quality of buttons , plastics aren't great. also, mytouch 3g's battery removable , can replaced $10 on ebay whereas, getting old, used iphone 2g might require battery replacement or have poor, used-up battery. in case, it'll cost me more serviced somewhere. mytouch 3g gets 3g, matters if affects reception , voice calls. wondering if iphone 2g still superior when comes voice calls , reception mytouch 3g on 3g network??
basically, needs phone use next year or two. 2 years @ most. our contract next december.
input on this? hear people still using 1st gen iphones , have experience first generation 3g android devices mytouch.
i don't it, doesn't need smart phone want recommendations on 2 smartphones?
know buying smartphone more make plan go when activate right?
anyway on question, me choose iphone on 90% of phone has android on it, because can't stand cluttered os android offers (and yes i've tried it)
