Password confusion

i tired of forgetting passwords. i’m thinking using 1 of password programs, have questions.
1) safe?
2) use pcs, macs, phone , droid. there compatible of these?
3) have enter 50-100 ones have or can programs pick them cookies or something?
4) ones should at? don’t mind pay if allows better system
