MacBook Unibody SUPER SLOW BOOT...

i have white macbook unibody, , super fast on boot; battery life great, too. switched lion , battery life less, , after running lion few months, boot time ridiculous. i'm talking 5+ minutes. i've reset pram. i've had dozen issues computer.

 

make sure go through every item: performance tips mac os x

open activity monitor , select all processes , either sort real mem show process(es) using ram or/and sort cpu show processes slowing down mac.

using activity monitor show cpu , ram usage​

can use following applications benchmark speed of hdd / ssd, see, if culprit:

• aja system test
• blackmagic disk speed test
• xbench
