Thunderbolt Display - Do I need MBP 15 or will MBA 13 with i7 Do?

hi...want thunderbolt display , mac laptop...like idea of having desktop , laptop if need (though use desktop replacement) . seems current mba can handle display fine...but "safer" mbp discrete video card?....i basic stuff on computer...dont game, wonder if mba intel graphics outdated on next 3-4 years...my usual replacement cycle.

i have 11" mba , works great thunderbolt display.

intel graphics outdated on 3-4 years. discrete graphics. thunderbolt display last lot longer, whole point of laptop/display desktop replacement.

if you're going replace computer in 3-4 years anyway, no problem.

i'd focus more on need laptop. ultra-portability without need optical drive, plenty of grunt everyday tasks , moderate graphics work/gaming? mba. more powerful? mbp.
