Messages Badge Issue

hey everyone. on messages, ive encountered issue icon in dock shows have 1 unread message. thing is, have no open messages. im not sure if closed 1 without clicking on first or what.

ive noticed, if have say, 4 unread messages , open app up, click on message window containing 4 unread messages... drop number on badge. if click out of messages, number goes up. its not permanently marking them read when click message box.

ideas???

 

happening me too...it's annoying
