Best free emulator for Nintendo 64?

i have macbook pro os x 10.7.2

, downloded sixtyforce emulator, , rom, , works fine, can't save unless register sixtyforce $17 or something.

i've tried downloading mupen64 numerous times, nothing far has worked me when try opening rom it.

there other free emulators out there? or buying sixtyforce little money best thing me do?

i'm verryyy new stuff! if explain something, please explain in great detail haha xp
