501(c)4 war about to begin

the irs begin examining 501(c)4 organizations determine whether tax exempt status merited. these "social welfare" oriented non-profits or charities not supposed primarily engaged in political activities though may allowed.

if irs finds such organization in violation of 501(c)4 charter, may order publication of list of donors or lose tax-exempt status. not surprisingly, groups deep pockets rather upset this, because not supposed know money driving elections coming from. secret ballot , that, guess.

i think heard on fresh air current interpretation > 51% "education" , < 49% attack ads. amazing have trouble staying under limit
