MS Office 2008 / Preview Issue

sorry lack of descriptive title... anyways, run ms office 2008 on white macbook , wondering if there's reason ms word/pp/excel opens last 4 documents/files/projects working on instead of 1 clicked on. may not seem annoying preview i'll click 1 picture , 4 or 5 things automatically open.
