Thunderbolt Display - Not recognizing ethernet or keybord upon plugging in to MBA.

for no apparant reason, when plug macbook air thunderbolt display, ethernet plugged display not recognized. if reboot, comes normal.

don't recall changes have made, started notice ethernet not connected or available, , on wifi instead.

@ same time, usb keyboard not recognized either. have unplug it, , plug in.

recent, weeks display worked fine plugging/unplugging of thunderbolt port. now, every single time have reboot macbook air display return normal.

seen before? have answer other resetting smc , pram?

 

i found mba doesn't go clamshell mode against tbd. reboot needed 9 out of 10 times. when plug in other mba worked flawlessly. format resolve problem.
