hello,
i'm looking @ doing upgrades late 2009 core 2 duo 2.53ghz mac mini server getting little sluggish on me. i'm running snow leopard server on it, , used in network of 8 computers access filemaker pro database on , shared file server hosted on external drobo unit.
machine has stock 4gb of ram came , twin 500gb hdd in raid 0. i'm planning on upping ram 8gb that's high can go in machine, thinking of replacing stock hdds ssds.
question having ssd noticeably improve machines day day performance of managing shared file access on external drive , running filemaker server? or waste of resources? capacity of internal drives isn't huge issue, thinking of buying 1 64gb crucial m4 , instead of raid 0 using backup solution secondary hdd. or maybe springing pair of small ssd keep raid 0 redundancy....
thoughts?
ssd's make difference - maybe more ram if fine running on 4gb's.
