How do i play quicktime audio through airplay and airport express?

i purchased airport express , have been enjoying being able play music through external speakers wirelessly airplay in itunes. problem im having getting audio play through speakers when playing videos. open video in quicktime or itunes shuts airplay off , plays through laptop speakers.
there way divert of laptop audio through airport express , external speakers? current setup airport , speakers cords tucked away in cupboard , big inconvenience having unplug every time want watch video using speakers.

using macbook pro running snow leopard 10.6.8, itunes 10.6.

natively, airport express plays audio itunes (at time of launch, airplay called airtunes).

however, can buy airfoil allow forward audio system or application airport express.
