looking @ nvidia article on macrumors lead me to start doing little bit of thinking regarding apple's treatment of air. basically, of know ram soldered system, not upgradeable , pretty static factory. assume users of pro more interested in performance, or possibly being able upgrades in order expand lifespan of system due professional nature of device, , segment it's aimed at. assumptions can wrong though.
so, if new macbook pro follow form factor of macbook air, , adopts strategy regarding ram used in macbook air, still interested in purchasing one?
seems me strategy shorten lifespan of device more demanding , advanced professional software coming out, coupled inability upgrade.
of course hypothetical.

as long 8gb. it's still toss though knowing mountain lion coming , apple said doing os refresh annually (tick tock). casual users might not have problem pro users might finding in need of 16gb post mountain lion (again, tick tock mountain lion next 1 sl lion).
