Picking a phone number, getting corporate discount

i'm going moving tmobile verizon 4s, , think, since local verizon store has approximately two-week wait (still!) it, it'd easier , quicker reserve @ night buy next day @ local apple store.

2 things though -- if buy through apple retail store, can pick new phone number (i want new number current area code)? think cool number once belonged house grew in, instance.

also, if company offers discount on monthly fee verizon, can still discount if buy/activate phone through apple? or have through verizon (store or online)?

you don't pick new number. they'll offer few numbers , pick one.

discount, at&t doesn't matter buy phone. know asked verizon i'm at&t.
