Macbook Pro Sound Issues - Interference?

hi everyone!

i've been reading these forums while , time has come need assistance!

purchased macbook pro 13 inch i5 (the latest 1 available). im having issue macbook , headphone port. plug in usb hard drive macbook, constant crackling/static type noise on speakers/headphones im using. stops eject drive.

ive tried looking around answer can't seem see anything. apologies if has been discussed before.
