Mac Pro Dilemma

here issue: windows user rapidly failing old workstation. need replace current workstation soon. interested in moving mac pro. using new workstation music creation, editing, , other normal activities. believe music editing software, control , playback challenging activity new workstation. current budget around $2,600.00. budget needs cover new 200-250.00 monitor. add second and/or third drive workstation budget allows scratch/backup disk. going purchase mini mac , max puppy out solid state drive , packed full of memory. realized pretty close entry level mac pro. having trouble idea of i-mac because of computer monitor integration. (this worries me much) here wondering if should pull trigger on entry level mac pro or revisit mini mac idea. on top of else wondering if current mac pro upgraded day after pull trigger on pro.

can please me? maxed out mini going handle music software? little concerned not being able upgrade without using external devices. entry level mac pro (with minor upgrades budget allows) out-perform mini? selling myself short quad core processor mac pro or plenty of power? can processor (mac pro) upgraded in future?

advice or direction appreciated. help!!!

i think mac pro way go you, following reasons:

1. dual cpu mac pro outperform single quad core i7 mac mini, in opinion.
2. have far more options in terms of expandability , future upgrades.

think budget limits if buy new, may want consider refurb or used 2009 can upgraded 2010 hexcore. wouldn't concerned new mp if comes out out of budget anyway. mac pro's workhorses , last years, can upgrade video cards , cpu's (some limitations on cpu's) , can kinds of things internal storage. far more limited mini.
