iTunes Match - continuously having to turn on

i've had turn on itunes match 3 times on macbook air now. every time takes overnight sync.

i'm thinking might because itunes library on external hard drive have connected airport extreme. when fire itunes after it's been off while , air has been out of house, have direct itunes on air music library on external hard drive.

why can't remember account has been connected , verify itunes song list? need "turn on itunes match" every time connect itunes library? pita.
