If the HD needs to be replaced

will recoveryhd still active? , if need be, able put sort of "recovery hd" on new hd?

i'm not sure how stuff works, know that:

- hard drives user replaceable
- not possible brick mac



please enlighten me, oh geniuses of mac community

 

since mention recoveryhd, sounds have lion. answer based on presumption.

recovery partition on disk , if replace disk won't there. mac new enough have internet recovery option? if so, doesn't matter internet recovery offers same recovery options sthe recovery partition.

if mac not new enough have internet recovery, can make usb recovery disk following apple knowledge base article.

full system recovery should recreate recovery partition.
