G5 Update or Replace

i have power mac g5 , photo retouching portraits. cant buy portrait retouch software because run off intel , not g5 tiger. want able retouching not sure if should pay have them sent out or invest in buying mac intel. not sure mac not break bank. appreciate or suggestions. new forum. thank

 

a basic intel core duo macbook 2006 run $200-300 likely. give idea of starting point be. also, 2006 intel mac minis aren't shabby either, if you're doing photo retouching. same price range really.
