blank grey login screen when waking from sleep (no user accounts shown)

anyone else experience this?

when click on blank grey screen small box shows should displyed, if scroll around cursor creates more boxes until can see user acounts log in.

i've been searching around past few months, sorry if addressed, didnt see it

2010 15in macbook pro lion 10.7.3

 

screenshot, same issue when waking screensaver. ideas?
