54% of Near-Term Smartphone Purchasers Still Looking to iPhone 4S

citing "explosive momentum" both apple , samsung, changewave research today released results of new survey of north american smartphone customers showing on half of looking purchase smartphone on next 90 days planning on buying iphone 4s. 54% share of future buying plans held apple of december down 65% in september, marked apple's best performance when measured 2 months after new product release after demand has slackened considerably.
samsung has continued momentum among android smartphone purchasers, share more doubling 13% among looking purchase new phone on next 3 months.

in analyzing satisfaction of existing smartphone users, apple continues lead 75% of owners saying "very satisfied" iphones. iphone has ranked in 70-80% range entire history of device. among apple's competitors, android manufacturers samsung, htc, , motorola score in 45-47% satisfaction range while research in motion has continued slide new low of 22% of users registering satisfied blackberry devices.

changewave's sample base focuses on professionals , early-adopter consumers, skewing data toward higher-end users have greater awareness of market. firm's long history of consistent data gathering offers @ patterns measured pool of users serves set trends rest of market.
