Job scheduling for MPI like LAVA?

are there tools out there osx similar lava used on clusters?

i've attempted mpi work xgrid, have given after spending few days on it.

although can use mpirun , nohup have jobs run across networked macs in background, it's pain having track when jobs finish , start other jobs. i'd have done in queue.

recommendations or starting points? or experience getting xgrid work mpi?
