OSX 10.8 really not compatible with older macs?

i don't see how older 2007 model dual core or 2008 mac air computer can not run software? think apple trying force apple users upgrade. have force upgrade x64 bit architecture, read in thread mountain lion has x64 bit kernal only.

 

it integrated graphics processor (igp) among other things, not supported os x 10.8 mountain lion.
