Video Export speed?

hi have mbp 13" 2011 i5 2.3ghz 8gb ram , 320gb hdd,

have 160gb left, when try export movie motion 5, 7 minutes long, takes 17 minutes?

me slow, maybe correct amount of time wait have been used video editing on mac pro, tell me of how boost export speeds..?

im thinking of getting 1tb hdd , possibly removing optical drive , putting in drive?

 

if have 50% of hard drive left, problem not hard drive usage. if lot of editing , want spend money on hard drive, rather think getting external fw800 drive, since may slow things down if footage , export folder on same hard drive system , software.

export: need more information before can judge if normal rendering time. first of all: exporting as? if chose h.264 codec smaller file size, export slow , 17 minutes quite expectable, since codec pretty complicated. if going prores, should faster... , secondly: doing in motion? if did greenscreen masking, tracking , added 10 flame balls , bunch of animated text, of course export slow because motion render of on export. if put in footage , export without effects or compositing, of course faster (although little useless... )
