Thoughts and feedback on new site?

hey,

launched new website few weeks ago called newtothemac.info. original goal site small site out friends , family mac questions when i'm unavailable, started working on realized bigger project had realized. intended couple week project became massive several month project, still isn't done. but, launched anyway , continue expand in coming months.

site has launched, i'm struggling figure out how drive traffic site. i've bought ads on several smaller tech sites, facebook , google, success, though nothing spectacular. i've been thinking maybe best strategy keep pumping out reviews, guides , news, , time it'll bring in readers. tough mentally writing massive amounts of content 20 people reading. best way go @ it?
feel giveaways or competitions might help, can't afford (or more ads), i'm college student , i've put more money should have.

besides tips how more traffic, i'm wondering sort of feedback have on site?

few specific things i'm wondering:
theme seem inviting? (if makes sense)
guides like this "flagship" feature of site. layout? overwhelming/too content on page?
when visit homepage, notice of social networking features? i'm wanting new visitors follow site on facebook/twitter/g+ there hasn't been success that.

other suggestions, criticism (positive , negative) of course encouraged.

much!

yes. content worth reading pretty way site successful, if define having large number of visitors 1 of metrics success. , increasing prominence in google results, follows having content worth linking to.

i don't know, find huge rollover image little distracting.

i think it's little busy, not awful.

no. buttons small.

success not happen overnight. post suggests expecting hundreds of hits immediately. unreasonable expectation.
