Networking advice

morning ladies , gents, how all?

have small problem imac dropping connection our linksys cisco wag160n in bedroom upstairs , router downstairs mounted on wall. think problem signal been lost between two, due to, interference (we have wireless phones, microwaves etc) distance, think stone walls, etc. dad, in room next door mine has usb dongle (came router) has similar problems pc not connecting internet - dropouts.

far fas can tell both set-up correctly.

thought running masses of cat5 ethernet cable wag160n room - how unsightly , costly. heard "powerline" , "range extenders" adapters channel 5 program gadget show - http://fwd.channel5.com/gadget-show/videos/feature/internet-around-the-home

want advice on might recommend perhaps solve problem having.

thanks

darren

imac running snow leopard 10.6.8
pc running windows 7 home

depends on mean expensive. depending on how big house is, don't think running few cat5 cables 1 floor cost more $100 plus hour or 2 of time, depending on how nice want look.
